Necklace Length Guide

Please Use this chart to estimate where a necklace will rest

Basic lengths are as follows:

  • A necklace above the collarbone is called a Choker (35 - 42cm)

  • A necklace on the collarbone is called a Princess (43 - 48cm)

  • A necklace between the collarbone and the bust is called a Matinee (50 - 60cm)

  • A necklace from just below the bust is called an Opera (between 70-90cm)

  • A necklace 90cm and above is called a Rope or Lariat

Please bear in mind that the final look of the necklace will also depend on your own body size, the size of your neck, your shoulder structure and the clothing you are wearing. Always choose a necklace to suit the neckline it is intended for and ensure that the length is comfortable and compliments your outfit as well as your features.
