Care Advice & Tips on how to preserve the longevity of your jewellery and handbags

Jewellery and handbags need a little TLC to stay beautiful! Treat them with care, and they’ll continue to add style and colour to your look for years to come.

Jewellery

Let’s start with the absolute no-nos, the things your jewellery does not like:

  1. contact with perfume, deodorants, creams and lotions

  2. exercise/sweat

  3. shower/bath/swimming

  4. to be worn when you sleep or snooze

Please be aware that all metals will tarnish over time. Light, heat, moisture and pollution are the usual culprits, so it is important that your jewellery is kept in a dry, dark place when you’re not wearing it - ideally individually in the box it came in, and not together with other jewellery. Give it a gentle, quick wipe with a lint-free jewellery cloth before storing it.

Your unique jewellery item came in a jewellery box. Inside you will find a microfibre cleaning cloth and an anti-tarnish paper tab which will protect your jewellery for about 6 months. These tabs are easily available to purchase when you wish to replace down the line.

Handbags

All handbags have been Scotchgarded prior to despatch, to offer optimum fabric protection during its lifetime. Your handbag is delivered inside a dustbag containing a desiccant sachet.

Things to know about what your bag doesn’t like:

  1. dirty, sticky or wet hands

  2. freshly applied beauty products on your hands: hand cream, body lotion, foundation, gels

  3. being put on the floor or on any other dirty surface

If you’d like to avoid staining your bag, please ensure that there is no product containing mineral oils/waxes or dirt on your hands. If you get caught in the rain, gently reshape your bag, from the inside, and let it dry at room temperature so that residual moisture cannot affect the fabric.

Always store your bag in its breathable fabric dustbag. To keep its shape, it is a good idea to fill the bag with bubble wrap, rather than paper or tissue, which may attract moths. Store your handbag in a dry place and please don’t squeeze it into a tight space.

General Care advice & Considerations

Each piece in our collection is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted to high standards. However, no item is indestructible. While chunkier designs offer more durability, all jewelry and handbags require gentle handling. Accidental impact with hard surfaces, sharp objects, or excessive force - such as tugging, bending, or applying pressure—can damage the intricate craftsmanship.

Many of our beads are made from glass, crystals, or gemstones, which may break if dropped onto a hard surface. Additionally, since most embellishments are woven directly into the crochet work, replacing a single stone or bead is often not possible. If your jewelry becomes damaged, please reach out to discuss potential repairs and associated costs. Keep in mind that every piece is unique—while we can recreate a similar design, an identical replacement is not possible.
